The Chair’s Office is launching a Community of Practice (CoP) to support practical, safe, and effective use of ChatGPT Enterprise across the Department of Medicine.
This will be a peer-driven forum focused on real workflows: what’s working, what’s not, and how we can reuse and build on each other’s work rather than starting from scratch.
What to expect
- Biweekly 50-minute sessions
- Live demos and showcases from colleagues
- Practical skill-building (e.g. administrative workflows, custom GPTs, prompting best practices)
- Time to workshop real use-cases and challenges

From Chat to Workflows: A Beginner’s Guide to AI Agent Harnesses
What happens when AI can do more than answer a question? Join Jon Rueter, Associate Dean for Financial Affairs, for a practical, beginner-friendly introduction to AI agent harnesses. These tools and instructions allow AI to work with files, use other applications, and carry out multi-step tasks. Through examples from Codex, ChatGPT Work, Claude Code, and Cowork, Jon will explain how anyone can begin turning everyday work into reusable AI-supported workflows while keeping people involved in reviewing the results. No technical background is required.
Jon will also share an update on an AI payroll assistant, an end-to-end workflow designed to streamline payroll variance review and salary cost transfers.
