Academic Personnel and Policies Manual: Academic Personnel and Programs manages systemwide programs and develops policy supporting faculty careers at UC, including recruitment, retention, advancement, compensation, diversity, and affirmative action.
Academic Senate: The UC Academic Senate carries out shared-governance responsibilities established by The Regents to exercise direct control over academic matters of central importance to the University – to determine academic policy, set conditions for admission and the granting of degrees, authorize and supervise courses and curricula; and to advise the administration on faculty appointments, promotions and budgets.
Campus Council on Faculty Life: Under the chairmanship of the Vice-Provost, the Council is charged with developing programs in response to the annual Faculty Climate Survey as well as considering other means of improving faculty life, which includes mentorship, wellness, and leadership development, amongst others.
Faculty Compenstation Plan: Provide detailed guidance for how the Department of Medicine implements the faculty compensation plan for faculty.
Office of Sustainability: Encourages faculty to support engagement around sustainability at UCSF, by providing outreach and education around the health link to energy, waste, toxics, food, and water. Employee benefits to support these efforts will be featured.
Space@UCSF: Provides a unified source of information on these projects and answer any questions or concerns about construction, timelines, open plan design, and decision-making.
UCSF Library: Supports faculty needs by providing research services, education/curricular support and tools, access to online resources/journals.
UCSF Privacy Office: Provides consultative services on information privacy related questions (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA), coordinates privacy investigations, and develops privacy training and education programs.
University Relations: Is charged with directing strategic communications, public affairs and advocacy efforts through integrated, outcome-driven communications to strengthen awareness of UCSF’s excellence in patient care, research and education through brand marketing, media relations, digital communications and internal communications.
