The Department of Medicine Business and Finance unit oversees the administrative functions of the Department’s division at the Parnassus/Mt. Zion, SFVAHCS and ZSFG sites.
The unit is responsible for budgetary and financial management of the clinical enterprise for the Department’s Parnassus/Mt. Zion and Mission Bay campuses. In addition, the unit manages the design and development of all financial information systems and applications for the Department.
Associate Chair for Finance, Michael Chen, leads the Business & Finance office within the Department of Medicine in the management of all financial operations relations to the clinical enterprise, Central Administration and it annual revenue, expenditures, including preparation of financial statements, Central Administration payroll and purchasing, and oversight for state funding and outside activities.
